On the outskirts of the city is one of Salzburg’s top attractions Hellbrunn Castle. Its water gardens seen in The Sound of Music are great fun especially for kids: When Archbishop Markus Sitticus built the place in the 1600s he had trick fountains mounted in the floors and walls.
